A: We have been open at this sight since 1970.

A: Yes

Q: How many residents are there?
A: We currently have the capacity for 70 residents.

Q: What is the occupancy rate?
A: 89%

Q: Is the community staffed with its own personnel, or does it utilize agency staffing to care for its residents?
A: We utilize our own staffing and never use agency staffing.

Q: Does the staff seem to interact well with the residents and each other?
A: There is a lot of longevity with our staff and we strive to create a home like atmosphere for our residents.

Q: What is the communities Mission Statement?
A: We recognize the variety of interests, abilities, and needs of the elderly. We also believe in the social model for services and programming which emphasizes involvement in activities of life at whatever level is possible or desired. All services will focus on assistance. Our role is not to do for, but to assist with each residents identified needs. By emphasizing assistance, we will support independence and promote dignity for the residents at this facility. Activity and service intensity will be determined by the interest, abilities, and functional limitations of the identified residents needs.

A: Michigan Home for the Armenian Aged/dba Manoogian Manor is a not for profit organization.

Q: Does the community meet the residents physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs?
A: Our facility is handicap accessible, we have a full activities program and church services several times a week.

Q: Things you should look out for and ask when searching for the right community:

  1. Ask to see their Activity Calendar
  2. Check the community itself. Is it clean, well lit and comfortable?
  3. Are guest restrooms clean?
  4. Ask to see the Department of Consumer and Industry Services Survey.
  5. Talk with current Residents to see what the likes and dislikes about the community are.
  6. Ask to have Lunch or Dinner in the dining room.
  7. Ask for a copy of the contract and then take it to a qualified attorney to review for you.
  8. Comparison shop.
  9. Look at competing communities and their pricing structure.
  10. Are you comparing apples to apples?
  11. Be particularly certain to look for add on fees and extra costs.
